More Holiday Fun

Dressing festively for Holiday Lights in the Park

Yes, Julia is all smiles here...but when we went to see Santa later on that evening she was NOT happy to see him, and even less happy to see Rudolph! This makes 3 out of 3 upset Santa pictures for Julia. Each year we (Mommy, really) keep dragging her to take these pictures with Santa that she hates...maybe some day we'll stop torturing her! Lily, on the other hand, peacefully slept through the whole thing, on Santa's lap and all!

Grandma Judy comes for a visit!

After dinner, just hanging out with Grandma!

Julia's Favorite Christmas Songs

Julia likes to jump when we play "Dominick the Christmas Donkey," an Italian classic. Go to this link to hear the well-known version sung by Lou Monte.

Daddy's also trying to teach her the 12 Days of Christmas, as sung by the McKenzie Brothers, much to Mommy's dismay.

For some reason, we're unable to find a video of the Chipmunks singing the 12 Days of Christmas, even on YouTube. If you can find it, let us know. We've settled for this song:

Lily's first month...

Hard to believe a month has gone by already! Hard to believe Lily is 10 pounds already! Lily has spent most of her first month in a sleepy state of mind...mixed in with lots of eating, looking around at the lights and a bit of crying (for good measure!). She has started to smile, and it is the sweetest thing! Julia is adjusting pretty well to her role as big sister. She is very interested in touching Lily softly on her cheek, head and mouth, especially when Mommy is trying to feed her!

Julia and her multi-colored dream tower

It's Thanksgiving morning, and Julia has built a beautiful tower out of blocks. As you can see from the first photo, she carefully engineered it so she would still be taller than the tower. Julia served as both the conceptual architect, and principal builder on this project.

Enjoying the fruits of her labor.

It's all smiles in the shadow of Julia Tower.

Getting into a groove?

Looking through these recent photos makes me think we're starting to get into a groove. The photos show us moving through the daily activities, like meals, naps and baths. Julia has gotten over her initial skepticism towards Lily and now takes quite an interest in the new addition. "Where's my sister?" "What's she doing?"

Lily seems to like the swing. Julia gives a kiss!
Julia likes peas, and if a kid likes vegetables, who am I to say she can't eat them off of my plate?

Lily's first real bath, soon after the remnants of her umbilical cord fell off, did not make her happy.

Julia was a great Mommy's helper during the bath.
